Anti-Bloat Smoothie Recipe

Oh, we all have those days when the dreaded bloat is out of control.

Whether it’s the day after Thanksgiving (um-hum), a holiday party or simply after a few days of overindulging, we’ve all had those times when we feel it’s a bit tough to get our body back to its healthy normal self. A dose of this green smoothie will help boost energy levels, reduce bloating and provide nutrient rich antioxidants. It won’t help to magically shed extra pounds but your body will get a much needed gentle nudge in the right direction.

Anti-bloating, de-puffing, immune boosting, toxin-defeating combo.

Sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy, drinking this green delight is like a vacation for your digestive tract. Banana and cucumber are a heavenly potassium pair, pineapple is packed with bromelain which greatly reduces bloating and aids in digestion, spinach helps the liver in the first phase of the body’s natural detoxification system, but it’s the ginger that’s the game changer here, friends. In addition to its delightful flavor and subtle kick, ginger is also anti-inflammatory, great for digestion, and boosts your immune system. I’ll obviously be adding it to all smoothies for the foreseeable future.

Anti-Bloat Smoothie

1 banana
1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1/2 large cucumber, sliced
2 cups spinach
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup water (plus more to blend to desired consistency)

Place all ingredients in your high-speed blender and process until very smooth.
