That being said, if you are ready to get down to business, this flat belly smoothie will whip you right into shape. Making this simple smoothie can help you lose the belly, naturally.

Here’s what makes it so effective!

1. Spinach: spinach aids in reducing puffiness and is a great source of magnesium. Magnesium helps to regulate insulin. If insulin and glucose levels are elevated the excess will get stored as belly fat.

2. Tropical fruits: Tropical fruits contain potassium, which flush out the system and they are loaded with vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps counter the action of cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone that is released when we are, well you guessed it, stressed out.  Excess cortisol stimulates glucose production. This excess glucose then typically is converted into fat, specifically in the abdominal area. Less cortisol = less belly fat. Yowza!

Flat-Belly Smoothie
1/2 cup pineapple, sliced (fresh or frozen)
1/2 mango, sliced (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup papaya, sliced
1 tbsp hemp seed, chia seed or ground flax seed
2 cups loosely packed spinach, washed
1 banana, peeled
1 cup water (more to blend to reach your desired consistency)

Blend all ingredients.
