Salad in a Jar!

I know you all want to eat more vegetables and salads.
I also know that prepping veggies + making salad dressing takes time.
And let’s be real — time is something most of us do not have unlimited amounts of.

So, what if I told you that you could make incredibly healthy + delicious salads that you could bring to lunch for 4 days, in just 20 minutes?

Pretty awesome, huh?

Sealing the salad in a glass mason jar can keep your salad fresh for 4-5 days!
{I know, I was shocked too.}

Here are the rules when it comes to creating your salad in a jar:
1.Use a glass mason jar
2. You must layer your salad in a specific order – dressing at the bottom, followed by veggies and other heavy foods and top it all off with the lettuce.
3. It’s not recommended to add the croutons or nuts to the jar as they will get soggy.
4. Your lettuce shouldn’t touch the dressing in the jar.
5. Place you heaviest vegetables at the bottom.
6. You want to pack the contents in fairly tight so that the salad won’t move around

Some delicious ideas for fillings:
strawberry,  goat cheese, and pecans with spinach and balsamic dressing
Cobb – egg, cherry tomato, onion, avocado, and romaine
corn, black beans, onion, tomato, avocado, cilantro, and fresh lime juice with romaine
diced apple, cranberries, almonds, with spinach and a vinaigrette
broccoli, onion, sunflower seeds, and raisins with mixed greens and creamy dressing
garbanzo beans, cucumber, tomato, goat cheese with mixed greens and a vinaigrette
quinoa, onion, pepperoncini, olives, tomato, and feta with spinach and a greek dressing
BLT – bean, lettuce, tomato
beet, goat cheese, pecans with spinach and balsamic vinaigrette
walnut, diced apple, grapes and chicken with spinach

Be creative and have fun!
