Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

So this is what I’ll be drinking all summer.

This recipe is a gift to smoothie enthusiasts and skeptics alike. In addition to its extreme deliciousness, I love that this recipe requires just 2 minutes to throw together, keeps you shockingly full, and is a total superstar on the nutrition front. The combo of strawberries, heart-healthy oats, banana, hemp and almond milk provides a one-two punch of fiber and protein, plus you get a hefty dose of essential vitamins and minerals.

 Simple, SIMPLE, so yummy and good for you.

I’m also pleased to report it keeps well in the fridge so you super busy friends can whip this up at night, store it in a sealed mason jar, and grab it on your way out the door. Alternatively, you can prep the fruit ahead of time, pack them in mason jars, pop them in the fridge or freezer, and then dump them in the blender with oats, almond milk and hemp seeds last minute.

Busy mornings need this 2 minute smoothie.

Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

2 cups organic strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 banana, peeled
1/4 cup oats (quick or rolled)
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp. hemp seeds

Throw all ingredients into a high power blender. Blend well until smooth.

*Makes approximately one 30-ounce smoothie which can be consumed as a meal or  divided to make two 15-ounce servings for a snack size portion.
